Tan Sri Musa Hassan: Macam ada tekanan.
Menjelang persaraan, Tan Sri Musa Hassan berkata, kebelakangan ini "semacam ada tekanan kepada pasukan polis, sama ada dari pihak politik atau orang-orang tertentu". Kenyataan seperti ini memberi makna yang sangat sangat dalam. Jika yang dimaksudkan ialah menteri KDN sendiri, seolah trend ini semakin menjadi-jadi. Tan Sri Musa sangat blunt dalam hal ini, manakala yang lain pula memilih berdiam diri.
Setengah menteri tidak segan silu mengganggu pentadbiran kementerian. Gangguan yang dimaksudkan ialah campurtangan menteri dalam perjalanan pentadbiran. Tidaklah salah jika kita katakan, gangguan itu berkait dengan manusia, wang dan projek. Bukan cerita baru, tetapi lebih ketara kini. Mungkin ada kaitan dengan konsep kpi yang menuntut prestasi menteri. Mungkin juga sebab wang yang kurang, oleh yang demikian menteri terpaksa juga masuk lorong rakyat biasa bukan sekadar lorong vip.
Bagaimana kita terjemahkan episod ini kepada undi dan pilihanraya? Saya cuma jangka rakyat tidak selesa dan tidak suka. Oleh itu wajar menteri lebih hati-hati, lebih-lebih lagi jika berkait dengan pegawai besar yang akan bersara, kerana mereka masih boleh mengundi dan mereka juga ada pengikut dan penyokong.

Musa: Delay a sign that Pak Lah may not stay
JOHOR BARU: The delay in the Umno annual general assembly may be an indication that Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will not be defending his post.
“If I am not mistaken, this indicates that the president has no intention of defending the position,” said Tun Musa Hitam.
He said this when asked to comment on the postponement of the Umno annual general assembly from December to March.
“I believe the decision was made after they (the supreme council) had reached an agreement at the meeting,” he said referring to the party supreme council meeting on Sept 26.
The former deputy prime minister said the period between December and March could see changes in the party to ensure the annual general assembly and transition of power is carried out smoothly.
“I believe the delay can help calm the unrest among members until the election in March,” he said adding that the unrest was particularly strong during the Permatang Pauh by-election.

Mahathir mengulas "kenapa saya tak buat apa-apa"

1. Tun dalam blognya chedet menyentuh sesuatu yang berat mengenai kepimpinan kerajaan Malaysia hari ini. Tun mengisi ruang blognya WHY DON'T I DO SOMETHING pada 3 september 2008 dengan nada sedih. Ramai turut rasa pilu, namun ada yang menyifatkan tulisan Tun kali ini bersifat apolagetik.
2. Kalau itu disifatkan satu perjuangan, maka Tun sebenarnya sudah lama menuntut perletakkan jawatan Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Secara umum, apa yang Tun minta, bukanlah perkara baru dalam senario politik negara.
3. Dalam proses memanjat tiang licin, akhirnya seorang sahaja yang boleh tiba dipuncak. Dalam kedudukan yang sangat strategik diatas sekali, juara senang meninjau sekeliling untuk menangkis sebarang ancaman dari bawah dan luar. Itulah yang akan dilakukan oleh mana-mana juara. Biar lembik, biar keras, biar pandai, biar pun lembab. Perjuangan politik negara dicemari secara umumnya dengan sifat rakus mahu naik ke atas. Yang berada dipuncak hanya boleh jatuh, kerana orang itu turun sendiri atau direntap turun atau diperdaya oleh orang sekeliling lalu menggelongsor sendiri.
4. Abdullah sebagai politikus veteran, sangat peka dengan situasi ini. Mempertahankan kedudukan adalah perkara lazim dalam politik. Politik juga boleh membutakan, kerana rakyat biasa sangat dengan retorik dalam menangkis ancaman.
5. Membina tembuk disekeliling kubu adalah langkah yang telah Abdullah lakukan. Shahrir bila dibawa masuk semula adalah strategi yang baik. Shahrir ada parut lama sejak pilihanraya kecil 1988 di Johor Baru. Kemenangan besar Shahrir waktu itu tidak dapat memadam rasa dendam terhadap Tun. Tindak tanduk Shahrir dalam menangkis ancaman dari Tun adalah natural. Malah ramai lagi sedia memberi betis dan paha, supaya todak tidak menusuk perut pemimpin, dan mereka rela berkorban.
6. Apa lagi dalih yang dapat diberikan apabila Mahdzir Khalid merobek Tun tanpa belas kasihan. Osman Aroff sedia duduk bersebelahan tetapi pisau lipat tersimpan dalam kocek baju. Johari Baharum boleh menangis tetapi sanggup merembas bukan dengan belati, cuma dengan ranting keduduk sahaja. Usah kita tanya tentang Shahrir.
7. Nazri tidak peduli apa reaksi rakyat, bila secara sepontan beliau telanjang bulat dalam TV menunjukkan paha dan betis yang sedia ditujah todak, demi mempertahankan pemimpin beliau. Orang dapat melihat sifat sebenar Nazri samada berbaju atau bertelanjang bulat.
8. Waktu Tun keluar dari UMNO, reaksi pedas dari pemimpin-pemimpin dapat rakyat saksikan. Kemuncaknya ialah reaksi bisa dari Musa Hitam "duri sudah keluar". Saya ada pandangan peribadi terhadap Musa. Beliau sedia menyifatkan Tun sebagai duri, saya juga sedia menyifatkan Musa sebagai Daging Busuk yang perlu segera dibuang.
9. Walau saya belum cukup tua waktu Memali mandi darah, saya kecewa dengan sikap santai Musa waktu itu. Sayang sekali, semangat Melayu Musa terlalu rapuh. Atas nama beliau ada titisan darah bangsa Melayu. Tetapi atas nama beliau tidak ada setitik pun darah bangsa eropah merempat di Venezuela, Colombia atau Argentina. Musa boleh baham daging bangsa sendiri bila lapar. Musang pun tidak tergamak berbuat begitu.
10. Kritikan Tun saya jangka tidak dikaji dan dikupas oleh barisan kepimpinan Abdullah. Apa juga yang terkeluar dari mulut Tun dilonggokkan dalam bakul yang bertanda "Ancaman". Dalam Strategic Planning, Threat atau Ancaman perlu ditangkis. Sayang sekali, kerana kerajaan Abdullah melihat Tun sebagai ancaman. Lalu rakyat menunggu setiap hari, melihat kapal tersasar, melihat layar yang koyak untuk mengumpul angin dan kecewa melihat Abdullah tidak menguruskan kemudi dengan cermat dan cekap.
11. Saya selalu mengatakan bahawa sifat dendam dalam manusia jarang padam. Pertembungan Team A dan Team B adalah real dan sengit pada tahun 1987. Abdullah, Musa dan Radzi yang terluka dalam perang itu, masih ada parut untuk membelai nostalgia. Kini waktu membalas dendam. Oleh yang demikian apa juga komen Tun harus disanggah. Legacy Tun mesti dipadam. Man is always a child!! Naive and Spoilt.
12. Saya sangat memahami apa yang Tun sampaikan melalui, Jambatan Bengkuk,Pinta Abdullah Letak Jawatan, Rasuah Abdullah, Tun dimaki pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO.
13. Memang pedih, tetapi sangat natural dalam politik dan proses memanjat tiang licin untuk kepuncak, mencapai panji-panji. Bukan untuk mengiakan kritikan Tun, tetapi dimana-mana sahaja, orang sering mengatakan betapa Abdullah terlalu lemah, tidak pandai dan tidak cekap mengurus dan memacu negara kedepan. Orang tidak marah, tetapi orang makin takut dan bimbang. Saya khuatir, UMNO akan kehilangan segala-galanya bila undi PRU13 mula dikira.
14. Malangnya sejarah menulis dengan terperinci bagaimana Raja, Pembesar, keluarga dan gundik-gundik lari meninggalkan Istana dengan harta-harta mereka bila kota Melaka dirempuh dan ROBOH. Yang mati bergelimpangan adalah rakyat jelata. Mati mereka kerana taat setia pada Raja dan Negara.

Tun mengulas tentang mengenang budi pemimpin lama.

Saya sering menjengah blog Tun. Kupasan dari Tun memberi makna yang mendalam. Posting Tun yang terbaru tentang Mengenang Budi Pemimpin Lama jadikan saya sedikit terharu.
Bukan Abdullah sahaja yang menentang Tun suatu masa dahulu. Musa Hitam masih hidup. Shahrir masih hidup. Radzi masih bernyawa. Saya tidak percaya ketiga-tiga mereka sekadar bertenggek ditepi gantang kabinet Abdullah. Masakan mereka lupa dendam Team B.
Dimana-mana pun, kita dapat melihat bad loser dengan ragam mereka. Abdullah adalah bad loser yang nyata. Dendam lama tidak pernah padam disebalik muka alim. Bila Abdullah, Musa, Shahrir dan Radzi berpakat, ragam bad loser jelas menyerlah. Kalau tidak, tidak akan terkeluar kata-kata "Duri sudah keluar" dari mulut Musa, waktu mengulas perletakan keahlian Tun dari UMNO.
Kita terkeliru antara duri dan daging. Yang sudi mengkaji, akan faham kerenah Abdullah, Musa, Shahrir dan Radzi. Mereka adalah bad loser, dalam perspektif duri dan daging, mereka adalah daging busuk. Maaf.

Tali penamat untuk Abdullah, Tali pengikat untuk Najib.
Dato Ron, harap sihat selalu.
Dulu, Tun tanpa amaran awal, mengumumkan pengunduran serta merta dari kepimpinan negara dalam Dewan Perhimpunan UMNO. Dewan terpaku dan bukan sedikit yang menangis.
Abdullah pula pada waktu selepas sedikit reda, menjerit sekuat-kuat hati "Kami minta Presiden tarik balik!".
Selepas itu Tun berundur beransur-ansur.
Kini tiba giliran Abdullah pula. Tidak ada yang menangis. Tidak ada yang terkinja-kinja minta Abdullah jangan undur.
Bila pengumuman dibuat sebelum Pemilihan Umno, ramai menjangka ia hanyalah untuk memastikan setiap cawangan dan bahagian mencalonkan tokoh dermawan yang sudi melepaskan takhta emas pada timbalannya dalam tempuh 700 hari dari sekarang.
Tali penamat masih jauh di depan. Kes Razak Baginda juga belum tiba kepenghujungnya. Rakyat juga tahu BPR menyiasat Musa Hassan dan Gani Patail. RPK dan Balasubramaniam turut menambah warna pelangi politik. Anwar pula masih mengejar Publisiti. Rakyat tetap patriotik memikul beban inflasi.
Kita belum nampak tali pita untuk Abdullah tunduk mendada dan menumbuk angin tanda tamatnya perlumbaan. Tapi kita seakan-akan nampak tali yang mengikat kaki Najib dari bebas kemana-mana.
Masakan rakyat tidak tahu.

Anwar likes to rise alone but fall together
M'sian police chief, AG called to give statements on Anwar's allegations
PUTRAJAYA - MALAYSIAN Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan and Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail were called up to give their statements to the Anti-Corruption Agency here on Friday on opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's allegations over their role in his black-eye incident in 1998.
Mr Musa arrived at the ACA headquarters at 8.25am, followed by Mr Gani who came in at 9.50am.

PUTRAJAYA - MALAYSIAN Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan and Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail were called up to give their statements to the Anti-Corruption Agency here on Friday on opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's allegations over their role in his black-eye incident in 1998.
Mr Musa arrived at the ACA headquarters at 8.25am, followed by Mr Gani who came in at 9.50am.
It is believed that they were being questioned by a panel headed by the agency's investigations director Datuk Shukri Abdull.
As at 11am, the two are still being questioned.
On July 1, Mr Anwar had lodged a report with the ACA alleging that Mr Musa and Mr Gani had fabricated evidence in the investigation into the 1998 incident where he was beaten by Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Noor, who was then the Inspector-General of Police. - The Star/ANN.

Catatan: Rakyat macam peminta sedekah.
We beg. Kita meminta-minta. Orang dipaksa meminta. Orang jadi peminta sedekah.
Meminta bukan sebenar-benarnya salah. Kita minta wang dari bapa. Kita minta kawan tolong sesuatu. Kita order secawan kopi di kopitiam. Kita minta rokemen dari menteri untuk apa-apa saja. Perdana Menteri minta sokongan untuk terus memimpin negara. Yong Teck Lee minta semua diam untuk dia suarakan sesuatu. Anwar minta balik jawatan lamanya di mahkamah. Dulu ada orang meminta-minta jawatan melalui Sanusi.......
Dalam senario itu juga tanpa hakim meminta-minta, mereka diberi durian runtuh. Mereka seolah diminta untuk menghayun Tun Mahathir. Maka keluarlah siri mengherdik Tun Mahathir. Kecuali Hakim, Peguam, Abdullah, Musa dan Anwar, rakyat umum selepas berketuakan Abdullah beberapa tahun lebih puas berketuakan Tun Mahathir. Jarang sekali kita rasa tidak selamat dengan Tun Mahathir. Tentunya pembangkang tidak setuju, apatah lagi mereka yang pernah singgah di Kamunting dan sungai Buloh. Dengan Abdullah, "rasa selamat" semakin hilang. It is better to have a strong leader than a weak one....
Nah... kita telah dikejutkan dengan kenaikan harga petrol. Subsidi ditarik dengan banyaknya. Kerajaan tidak mahu rakyat jadi rakyat welfare. Kerajaan mahu rakyat bertanggungjawab dengan senario ekonomi dunia. Kerajaan tidak mahu rakyat bersenang lenang, tidur bangun, dan berangan-angan saja. Dalam keadaan itu juga, kerajaan memaksa rakyat menjadi peminta sedekah, berpusu-pusu ke pejabat pos untuk sedikit wang.
Di kopitiam, ada kawan kata bahawa dalam menangani isu petrol, tindakan pemerintahan Abdullah seolah tanpa pertimbangan. (Waktu itu teringat pula kes tok ketampi dalam lokap, ada yang kelam kabut dan terkinja-kinja nak pergi China untuk minta .......). Mereka tak suka rakyat welfare, mereka suka rakyat jadi beggars! Nah, tak sangka ada yang sangat sadist dalam kelompok pemerintah kini. Tak sangka......
BERITADARIGUNUNG: teringin tenguk nama-nama rakyat Malaysia yang ada 5 buah kereta untuk jadi peminta sedekah. He/she must be richer than most beggars.

PETALING JAYA: Criticising or pressuring the Umno president to step down does not mean one is disloyal to the party, said former party president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Dr Mahathir went on to question the rationale of some claims that those who were not loyal to current president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi were not loyal to Umno.
“Is Umno Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and is Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Umno?
“Only those with individualistic interest will spread and support the concept that Umno is Datuk Seri Abdullah and not being loyal to Abdullah meant that members were not being loyal to Umno,” he said in his latest blog posting at www.chedet.com on Friday.
Dr Mahathir also cited past incidences where Umno leaders disagreed with the party presidency due to their loyalty to the party.
“Tun Razak and several Umno leaders disagreed with Yang di-Pertua Umno Datuk Onn Jaafar’s suggestion to open to all races which eventually caused Datuk Onn to back down.
“In 1969-1971, they also disagreed with Tunku Abdul Rahman’s leadership in the party and he stepped down. But does this mean that they did not love the party or were disloyal to it?” he asked.
Dr Mahathir also claimed that from 1986-1987, Tun Musa Hitam, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Abdullah acted to topple him as Umno president.
“They were clearly not loyal to me but did I accuse them of being disloyal? Were they barred from meeting members? Were they prevented from campaigning to tarnish my name or not to vote for me?
“Did I consider their opposition against me as party disloyalty? Actually Abdullah should not have been accepted into the new Umno after he lost, as he was not loyal to me,” said the former premier.
Abdullah, he added, was not only accepted in but was allowed to contest the supreme council member and later the vice president post.
“If I held on to the definition that anyone who is not loyal to me is not loyal to the party, would I have appointed Abdullah again as Minister and then as deputy prime minister and so forth?” he questioned.

Abdullah, he added, was not only accepted in but was allowed to contest the supreme council member and later the vice president post.

I don't know whether I can enlighten you on Memali massacre, but perhaps
I may be allowed to say a few words.
First, I must say that the Memali massacre was like a turning over for
me. I was very much pro-government then, I swallowed just about
everything they spit. I believe in our government, totally.
Then, one day, coming home from somewhere, while lying on the bed, I
heard the news from the radio. It was a special news, not during
regular news time. It was Dato' Musa Hitam, the then DPM, making a
special announcement. I couldn't recall his exact word, but he said
something to this effect:
"Sekumpulan komunis telah terbunuh dalam pertempuran dengan anggota
keselamatan di Memali, Baling pada pagi ini."
There were other things that he said, like two of the "anggota
keselamatan" also terbunuh, but this "komunis" thing still stick in my
mind. I didn't, at first, take the news to be something of special
occurence. Soldiers killing communist terrorists, I thought, is nothing
special. While it may not be everyday occurence, generally only the
newscaster will air it, not the DPM. The esteem PM, no less than the
great Mahathir himself, was away in China at the time.
So, I did wonder why it has to be made as a special announcement, but I
didn't quite take it seriously that morning.
Then, later that day, in the news, it was said that a group of criminals
were killed in the crossfire with the "anggota keselamatan" in Memali,
Baling, Kedah. This time, the news caught my attention. Earlier that
day, I heard very clearly that it was a group of communists. Now, it
became a group of criminals. I wondered.
Then late at night, or probably tomorrow morning, the news change again.
Now it is a group of religious deviationists. Along the line, they said
it was religious extremists.
It made me wonder why the government keeps changing the identity of the
ones murdered. From Communists to criminals to deviationists to
extremists. It made me wonder who were they, those who died in Memali.
The newspaper for the next subsequent days mostly represented Ibrahim
Libya and his followers, the ones who got killed, as extremists and
deviationists. The word about being communists and criminals were
silenced.
For the first time, I was not convinced with government lies.
Government appeared to be hiding something fishy, I thought. Then, for
the first time in my life, I attended a ceramah conducted by PAS,
wanting to see whether they have something to say, because by then,
Ibrahim Libya was said to be associated with PAS. It was the first time
I saw Nik Aziz, the man whom I heard before, but never paid attention to
him.
The old man who I saw that night was totally different from what has
been pictured in the local newspaper about him. It was Ramadhan, and he
led the tarawikh prayer, and when I saw him approaching the podium, I
thought this man cannot be too bad. He looked like a very kind hearted
man, sincerity shown on his face, and his face has traces of being warak
(you know one when you see one, I don't know how to explain this, but
Nik Aziz's face was clearly not the face of men fitting to be playboys
who were interviewed to paint a bad picture about Ibrahim Libya in the
local newspaper during that times). When he talked, I knew how much I
have been missing in my life, for naively believing everything spit by
the local media.
Nik Aziz didn't talk much about Memali that night. The program was to
remember Badar, not Memali. There was also one other speaker who talk,
but I don't remember his name. He also didn't talk much about Memali.
Not yet satisfied, I went about asking people, listening to ceramah,
reading this and that, wanting to know who Ibrahim Libra really is. I
also happened to listen to a few tapes of ceramah made by Ibrahim Libya
before his demise. I said to myself, this guy cannot be a deviationist.
I thought his ceramah was a bit harsh. He said a lot of not nice thing
about Mahathir, and he was especially angry with Anwar Ibrahim, whom he
supported and visited while Anwar was in detention in Kemunting. But
nothing in what he said showed a tread of deviation or extremism vis a
vis Islam. This guy just want Islam to be a way of life. And he was
criticising Mahathir and Anwar for deceiving people with the so-called
penerapan nilai-nilai Islam.
After six months of searching, I made up my mind that I have to be
careful with whatever the government is saying. What they said about
Memali was a downright lies. Ibrahim Libya was not a communist, nor a
criminal; he was just an ustaz who spoke his mind. He didn't deserve to
be shot. His teaching, for all intents and purposes, was purer than the
one propounded by the YB Hamid Othman, our Minister in Pusat Islam.
The Government Media stick with religious deviationist and extremist a
couple of days after the massacre, and it became their official version.
I was lucky enough to hear the announcement made from the beginning. I
still recalled it today, now, that Musa Hitam said it was a group of
communist that our soldiers killed in Memali. Then, radio made them a
group of criminals, until finally they sticked with official version,
"Pelampau Islam yang menyebarkan Ilmu sesat."
I thought, if the government can make downright lies about this matter,
what about other matters. My trust to the government then shaken.
Not so long ago, I happened to ask the ex-police who happened to be
involved in the Memali case. He tried not to talk too much about it,
but he made it clear to me that it was the police mistake, police,
meaning the government or authority.
I asked whether the action was justified. He said on the ground that
Ibrahim Libya held two policeman as their ransom, the police action was
justified.
So, is Ibrahim Libya and his people who died were martyrs? Only Allah
knows. From what I heard and read, it was said that the blood from
Ibrahim Libya and his people did not dry up, and the bodies were still
warm though they have been dead for many hours already. Blood flows
without stopping and the body did not become stiff are some sign of
martydom. It was because of this reason they were buried without prayer
of jenazah.
In addition, I also heard from a reliable sources that at least one of
the police was shot from the back, not from the front. And the bullet
was I believe M16, not from senapang gajah. Ibrahim Libra and his
followers have two short guns, the rest are parang, keris, pedang,
pelapah kelapa, lastik. The wound of the dead policemen and the bullet
found were said to be not from short gun, or parang, or lastik. I
shudder to think that these policemen might be a decoy, a victim of some
sort to make Ibrahim Libya and his men looked like communists with guns.
I hope if it was the police themselves who shot these policemen, it was
done by mistake, not by design.
Those were the little account that I can tell you about Peristiwa
Memali. Most of the things are based on what I read, from government
media account, and from other sources, and what I heard. None from what
I see. I was not there in Memali during the event.
If you ask me, then I say the government made a very big mistake. It is
a big stain on the government. I for one do not believe in this
government since then (not that I reject it totally, but I am very
careful of what they say). They could have cekup Ibrahim Libya and put
him somewhere in Kemunting for two years, then renew if they like. If
the government do that, I might still be one of the blind fools
believing everything they spit on my face.
Looking from that perspective, I think Memali was good, in the sense
that it enables me to see the true color of the present government. In
that sense, Ibrahim Libya was truly a martyr, because he has managed to
turn over some people. Even if he wasn't, I believe Allah is kind to
his soul.

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has shot back at two Umno veterans who criticised him and said their comments "has really tickled my heart."
He took a pot shot at his former deputy Tun Musa Hitam who had described him as 'thorn in the flesh' and chastised Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad whom he said had forgotten how he was allowed to return to Umno after being out of the party.
"Tun Musa Hitam claimed that I was a thorn in the flesh that has now been removed. Has Tun (Musa Hitam) forgotten that he was a thorn in the flesh in Umno back in 1986-1987 when he was the deputy prime minister appointed by me?"
"He resigned as deputy prime minister and Umno deputy president because he wanted me to step down as the Prime Minister and be replaced by him. Following an appeal by Supreme Council members, he returned as Umno deputy president as he still had intentions to bring me down.
"That is why he instigated his worst enemy, Tengku Razaleigh (Hamzah), to fight against me," Dr Mahathir claimed in his blog www.chedet.com Thursday.
Dr Mahathir claimed that the former DPM hated him so much that he was willing to allow his political enemy to contest the party presidency although Musa Hitam, he claimed had previously appealed to him to help him win the deputy president post from Tengku Razaleigh.
"In the end, Umno fell apart and the splinter party Semangat 46 was formed, which he cleverly did not join. I then appointed him as a Minister-level messenger to United Nations.
"Tengku Razaleigh on the other hand, was out of Umno and became Tun's (Musa Hitam's) victim. Congrats Tun," Dr Mahathir said in his posting.
Dr Mahathir was commenting on a report aired on local television on May 19, following his decision to leave Umno that same day, a move that shocked many. Musa Hitam's comments had irked some Umno members while others felt it was a "personal opinion".
On Shahrir, Dr Mahathir said the Domestic trade and Consumer Affairs Minister had forgotten how he had left Umno and became an independent candidate to fight against Umno in a by-election using the key symbol.
"Who are you (Shahrir) to criticise me? If it weren't for Tun Musa's sister who as the then Johor Baru Wanita chief, who came to my house early in the morning to appeal that you be allowed to return to Umno, you would have become a thorn in Umno's flesh for a longer period.
"Although you berated me in the by-election, I agreed to let you back in," he added.
He congratulated Shahrir for becoming a minister once again but advised him to "take good care of the price of goods instead of commenting about me."
Dr Mahathir who is currently attending a conference in Tokyo, Japan, ended his posting with the phrase 'Tepuk dulang paku serpih, katakan orang awak yang lebih’. (You are accusing others when you are far worse).

EC Should Be Free In Making Decision, Says Guan Eng
PENANG, May 18 (Bernama) -- Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the Election Commission (EC) should be free and not favour the ruling party in making the decision on the use of black ink in the March 8 general election.
Besides that, he said, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan and Attorney General Tan Sri Gani Patail should explain to the people the true reason behind the issue of cancelling the use of the black ink.
He was commenting on a statement by EC Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman on Saturday that the Cabinet did not approve the use of the black ink during the last general election because of security and legal reasons.
Lim was speaking to reporters after opening the Batu Maung state constituency community service centre here Sunday.
Rashid also said that although the EC had initially decided to use the black ink to ensure transparency in the general election it had agreed to cancel the plan based on the two strong reasons.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, in elaborating Rashid's statement, said the decision to cancel the use of indelible ink in the last general election was not an order but views of the government to the EC.
Abdullah said that even though in principle the decision was made by the government, it was delivered in the form of views and the final decision remained at the discretion of the EC as the body responsible in the running of elections in the country.
Meanwhile, Lim said Rashid, Musa and Gani must be free and not favour the government on the matter because this was a breach of democratic principles because voting in an election must be carried out fairly, freely and without disruptions or influence from any quarters.
Besides, an explanation on the action not to use the black ink was necessary in view of the RM2.7 million spent to purchase 48,000 bottles of the ink, he said.
On another issue, Lim said the new list of Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) members in Penang had been decided upon and their appointment would be made as soon as the old JKKK members vacated their seats.
