Anwar Ibrahim dengan Karpal Singh

Suka hati saja ada seorang kawan cuba reka satu skrip perbualan antara Anwar dan Karpal.

"Karpal, you just watched the video.... that guy has such a long pistol. It cannot be me... hey, what say you??"

Mahu serah Sarawak sama Karpal atau Anwar?

Apa orang Sarawak mahu serah sama Karpal?

Kita lupakan Anwar, sebab dia adalah kisah lalu, a gone case. Waktu dia marah-marah wartawan perempuan bila diaju hal Omega, dia dah silap langkah.

Kalau Anwar mengaku "YA! Saya mengaku kongkek pelacur itu!", tak ada siapa nak marah. Habis sangat orang cakap pelan-pelan....
  • eh, tak sangka
  • aku agak dah
  • ya ka?
  • betoi la macam depa kata
  • biasa la tu

Kalau betul orang Sarawak nak serah kepada Karpal, tak apa la. Karpal cekap bela orang, lagi banyak duit masuk lagi hebat dia bela, dia boleh tangguh kes selama-lamanya. Mungkin dia biasa guna ayat ini "What's in it for me?" Ada masa dia defend kes secara percuma, bila ada unsur sensasi. Publisiti adalah harganya.

KARPAL SINGH : dire need of a body guard.

Lets talk about having body guard since Karpal said so. He said so due to the threats and scuffles at the Parliament on Thursday. I think it was a sensible approach from a reasonably sensible man of his stature.

But what is more sensible is having a body guard to keep his strong/stinging/bordering to racial/ outbursts at bay. I suppose those are the root cause. "King is Singh or Singh is King" may not be able to capture the fine element of root cause.

Even the bombardment of Iraq and Afghanistan cleverly hid away the actual motives. We are made to see something else. That has always been the way.

POLITICS WITH MALAYSIAKINI: karpal gets two live bullets

Ok. Like the mahathir's initial reaction to Anwar's black eyes. Anwar could have punched himself. Now YB Karpal's two live bullets. Why two? Someone may want to pass a tormenting joke "Who knows, he could have posted a self addressed letter!" Ouuuch.... that aint fair.

Forget about the joke. If this one is a real threat, then lets not yell or be sarcastic, just sit down, ponder and do a soul searching deliberation. A vacation like Elizabeth Wong sounds good. Of course, YB Karpal is in dire need of police protection, not only about the bullet but also to keep Karpal's outburst at bay.

An envelope containing two live bullets and a death threat had been mailed to DAP chairman Karpal Singh’s home in Jalan Utama.

In his police report lodged at the Penang police headquarters this afternoon, Karpal Singh, a lawyer, said his clerk Ahad Hassan found the envelope sent from Perak in his postbox at his home about 8.15am on Thursday.

“I was in Kuala Lumpur yesterday when my clerk Puan Nazimah informed me on the phone about the envelope which was handed to her at about 9.45am at my legal firm in Green Hall here,” Karpal Singh told waiting pressmen at the police headquarters at 12.20pm.

“When opened, Nazimah found the envelope contained two live bullets and a hand-written letter. I told her to keep the envelope and its contents in my office safe until I came to Penang Friday to lodge a police report for the police to launch a thorough investigation.”

The writer threatened that Karpal Singh and his family would be harmed for showing disrespect to the Malay Rulers.

Karpal Singh said this was not the first time he had received such a threat, adding that the police had done nothing after he lodged a police report in Kuala Lumpur last May upon receiving a live bullet with a letter outside his office in Jalan Pudu Lama. ON MORALITY WITH MALAYSIAKINI: as Karpal pokes Anwar

Months ago

a blogger friend joked about organic gardening, something i am passionate about. Why not?.. We cant be passionate on exactly the same thing, the same hobby or the same husband or wife ... We are meant to be different, echoing the uniqueness of our very thumbprints. Some love drawing, music, shopping, sewing and reading, but some love lazying around doing nothing ... haha. Some save money to the grave, but some spend beyond means.

2. Thats how it goes with life, taking our own path and somewhere and somehow bump into each other along the timeline. But life is not too random as the Brownian motion taught by teachers decades ago. Life is not necessarily playing hide and seek as regulars at Genting Highland toss fate and luck like dice.

3. The difficulty lies as persons interact, hitting belief and passion against one another. Once we cant compromise there is a danger of taking everything, the belief and the passion along with herds, crowds and gangs. Then there will be war!

4. Politics fall within the same wicked boundary. I suppose what guides us are values; both universal and religous. Somewhere along the long fence that contains us safe, there is an element called morality.

5. When Anwar sang the song "masyarakat madani", morality was inserted nicely in the chorus, becoming his tagline, his awesome battle cry. He said it out nicely like a guru we never come across. He steal the show from time to time. He painted Cronyism and Nepotism black and dirty. He cursed every business transaction as trade off for corruption. A guru on morality so to speak.

6. Then came the dateline of September 16. He can only emerge as champion through defections. He failed so far, but 2 weeks ago, there was a silver lining in the sky at BOTA. He smiled, grinned and the whole house rejoiced, Hadi included. It is a crusade! A crusade for power sidelining the more imminent issue of morality.

7. The journey changes course, and as they steer up north, missing a rock or two, there just a kilometer away, an impending collision is in full sight. A royal collision. Anwar befriended men from all walk of life, he should by now understand the meaning of Royal Flush as he gambles away.

8. But Karpal put a big black boulder in front of him. The boulder has this inscript printed bold and big.... MORALITY!

PERAK WITH MALAYSIAKINI: Karpal will not represent Nizar

Afternoon crunch!

We are witnessing Malaysia in a 30 minute video clip. That is Perak Crisis. We should brace ourselves for a long drawn battle, as baits and gambits are thrown at leisure. I hate it but I am not going to miss every second of it. Out of all these, the game still remains, a quest for supremacy.

2. Karpal may not be too happy, judging by his tone.

Karpal will not represent
Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin

mysinchew
Feb 11 2009

Veteran lawyer Karpal Singh said Wednesday (11 Feb) that he will not represent Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin in filing a suit to declare Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir's appointment as the new Perak menteri besar null and void.

He said he did not want to be in the team because his views and those of Mohammad Nizar's team (Pakatan Rakyat team) were different.

Karpal Singh, who is the DAP chairman said this when asked asked by reporters outside the Federal Court here whether or not he will represent Mohammad Nizar in the matter.

On 6 Feb, Mohammad Nizar was reported as saying that he would take legal action against Dr Zambry, who was sworn in as Perak's 11th menteri besar the same day, because there were now two menteris besar in the state and this had precipitated a constitutional crisis.

Mohammad Nizar, who is also the Perak deputy PAS commissioner, defended his position, saying that he was still the menteri besar and that Dr Zambry's appointment was against the federal and state constitutions. (Bernama)

CRISIS WITH MALAYSIAKINI: Anwar denied Karpal's allegation

Karpal has some bad experience with royal court. It goes a long way since the standoff in Chow Kit area. Adam versus the whole world in a rambo style. Adam had his reason but not many is sure what is Karpal's motive other than political. Karpal never seem to stop complaining about the royal court time and time again. Once he mentioned about less than desired behaviour exhibited by the monarch. On a lighter note, a Kiai has dealt with him, man to man.

2. I thought karpal's words that Perak's monarch is there simply due to the constitution , was a bit cheeky and of bad taste. Karpal's words do not fit in well with tatarakyat, civics, and rukun negara we learn in schools. By the way, India has lost her colourful monarchs not by the native hands but the British rather.

2. Now is different. While the issue is about Nizar and PR state government made defunct by the royal decree, Karpal intends to go head-on with the royal court, using his arena, the court to settle things. On the other hand, Anwar being a shrewd politician understands well about his political base. Some says his political base is the indian community, as Hindraf heroic champion. But Anwar is keen in letting the whole country know that he is still relevant as far as the malay votes is concerned. A clash with the monarch will put an end to his political pursuit. He cant cling on hindraf much longer for the natural evolution of Hindraf will be of Sinn Fein mould.

3. Karpal was sore because he was sidelined. The arrangements on the current standoff were made amongs other PR leaders; Anwar, Hadi and Lim. Karpal was excluded due to his different stand.

4. I assume that will be the last thread of Karpal in the loose coalition and even in DAP. Lim Guan Eng must be ready by now to take over chairmanship of DAP signalling the real political base of chinese inclined DAP. We are about to witness the handing over Singapore style as the old Lee path the way to the young Lee.

5. I think Anwar is too selective in picking a good horse to ride. He will keep picking and dumping. As he is riding forward cowboy styled [with the long heeee haaa], the future is bleak. Nizar may not sense danger lurking behind the limestone hills because he is a first timer.

Anwar denied
Karpal's allegation

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said DAP chairman Karpal Singh was only expressing his personal views in hitting out at him and that this would not jeopardise unity in the Pakatan Rakyat alliance of PKR-DAP-PAS.

The Permatang Pauh member of parliament said Karpal Singh's tirade against him today was because he (Anwar) did not agree with the decision by the DAP leader to take legal action against Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak for asking Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin to resign as Menteri Besar.

Anwar, who is also Pakatan Rakyat chief, also denied Karpal Singh's allegation that he was responsible for bringing "party hopping culture" into the opposition coalition.

Met by reporters at the Perak Menteri Besar's residence here Sunday night, Anwar also said that he would be meeting Karpal Singh to thrash out the issue.

He was responding to Karpal Singh's remarks at a press conference in Penang earlier that Anwar was not fit to lead the Pakatan Rakyat because of his propensity to seek defectors from the Barisan Nasional to shore up the Pakatan Rakyat and "creating trouble" in the opposition coalition.

Also present were PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and DAP deputy chairman, Tan Seng Giaw.

However, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang and his son Lim Guan Eng, who is DAP secretary general and Chief Minister of Penang, did not turn up at the residence tonight to show support for the embattled menteri besar although it had been reported that they would come.

Nizar has defied the Sultan's order and made the residence his "seat of government".

KARPAL WITH MALAYSIAKINI: demands Anwar Ibrahim to step down

Latest. And this is boiling hot! The Aftermath of Perak political crisis. Anwar as a liability is one thing but the most important issue is their ideological differences. Come to think of it, are DAP and PKR really multi racial parties?

2. As Karpal rightfully said, Anwar has done enough damage to the country. But Karpal went for bullet spray, hitting everyone who tried to mess with him. For the record, comments from a young politician was a bit too far, saying Karpal is not fit to be a citizen of this country.

Karpal demands that
Anwar Ibrahim step down.

by Sharanjit and Lee

Penang
sunday 8feb 2009

In an amazing outburst, DAP national chairman Karpal Singh criticised today PKR chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, his DAP boss Lim Kit Siang and even Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for what he deemed as their "inconsistent stand" on party hopping. In a Press conference at his penang office, Karpal claimed that their stance had caused the whole Pakatan Rakyat to be in disarray. Karpal also accused Anwar of being unfit to lead Pakatan Rakyat and demanded that the PKR supremo step down.

Karpal expressed his disappointment with the stand taken by Anwar and DAP leaders on party hopping, claiming that their inconsistency had caused the whole alliance in Pakatan Rakyat to be in disarray.

The MP for Bukit Gelugor called on the DAP to seriously reconsider its membership in Pakatan Rakyat to show the party does not condone dishonesty of any kind, in particular treachery to the people through crossovers.

Calling on Anwar to repent, Karpal said the former deputy prime minister had created enough trouble for the country.

"I wonder if he is fit to be the leader of Pakatan Rakyat. In fact I think Pakatan Rakyat requires another leader, a good leader. Not someone who believes in immorality, even accepting crossovers," he said at a press conference in his law firm here today.
Karpal expressed regret that some Pakatan Rakyat members and even the DAP had fallen into the temptation of supporting crossovers.

"Some of them have not even said a word all this while and I regret that I did not get support from even my own party leaders (on the crossover issue). Kit Siang and Guan Eng should support me instead of making statements supporting Anwar Ibrahim. I am the chairman of DAP and let me make it clear to the party leaders that I have the support of the rank and file," he said.

Karpal then went on to issue a warning to his party leaders not to push him to far. "I have been patient all this while. Don't let matters come to a head in the interest of Pakatan Rakyat and also DAP. In fact, I have even proposed that DAP leave Pakatan Rakyat on the issue of hudud law but no one supported me. Neither Kit Siang or Guan Eng. It is a shame and they should also bertaubat (repent)."

Asked if he would call for an emergency party meeting to discuss DAP future in the alliance, Karpal said he was already contemplating doing so. "I have been silent for too long. I cannot fight the cause of the DAP alone although I have been trying. What I am saying and am defending is nothing but the truth."

ON CRITICISMS THAT HE COMMITTED TREASON
Karpal slammed those who had accused him of committing treason for taking on Sultan of Perak.

"Those who have lodged reports against me are obviously ignorant of the law. I would like to make it clear to everyone that they better not play with me. I have taken enough. If you want trouble then you have come to the right place," he said. "I will not be cowed by anyone on the issue."

Karpal reiterated that he had done nothing unlawful or illegal in relation to the Sultan of Perak.

"I am just stating that the Sultan is also subject to the due process of the law and he can be sued in his official capacity for dismissing the Pakatan Rakyat state government.

Karpal repeated his view that the Sultan has acted ultra vires to the provisions of Article 16(6) of the constitution of Perak.

SULTAN WITH MALAYSIAKINI: Unethical to take Sultan to court

When
Tun Mahathir says something, it is worth hearing from a man who has seen Malaysia from a bird's eye view. He was the pilot. Someone say Malaysia today, good or bad is out of Tun Mahathir's manoeuvre. Most live happily but some are angry not getting near the power cake.

2. So, Tun is giving his piece on Karpal intention to take Sultan to court.

Unethical
to take
Sultan to court
- Tun Mahathir

The star
Sunday feb 8 2009

The law allows for a Sultan to be brought to court, but ethically it is not good, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said.

“Ethically, it is not good, but lawfully, nothing can obstruct a person from suing (the Sultan).” he said.

Dr Mahathir was asked to comment on DAP national chairman Karpal Singh’s statement that Pakatan Rakyat would be taking legal action against the Sultan of Perak and the Barisan Nasional for proceeding with the swearing-in of Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir as the new Mentri Besar.

When asked if the Malays would be upset with the legal suit, Dr Mahathir said as a Malay himself, he disagreed but, “there are many Malays now who are supporting Karpal”.

Inilah Melayu moden, saya ni orang tua (These are the modern Malays, I’m just an old man),” he added after witnessing the demo of a new Smartpool or swimming treadmill by Smartpools Sdn Bhd at the Mines Business Centre here yesterday.

On whether the Perak state assembly should have been dissolved, Dr Mahathir said the assembly should have met and decided on a vote of no confidence against Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as that is the only way to bring down a government.

“But if Nizar refuses to hold a sitting of the assembly, then no one can force him.

“However, he can’t put it off for a long because the assembly will need to convene to table the budget and such,” said Dr Mahathir.

On the crisis with Nizar’s refusal to resign and Dr Zambry’s new appointment, Dr Mahathir said Pakatan should prove their case if there was any breach of the constitution.

Karpal is showing his true colour!!

beritadarigunung.

Pardon me. Dont get me wrong, i am not trying to be racist. I am not hinting the colour of Karpal's skin or heart (?)What's so wrong with colour? Black is the nothingness, vacumn emptiness, solid dark heavy all absorbing blackhole of the the universe. White is the unison of colours. The rest are shades to the whiteness of white. These are colours on the spectrum as we learn in schools decades ago. I heard they are using the same colour spectrum with corresponding wavelengths nowadays.

I dont wish to elaborate further. But what Karpal has to say about Abdullah is most interesting. At least, that is the wavelength potrayed by Anwar on colour spectrum as far as Abdullah is concerned. Anwar and Karpal are sharing the same wavelength. That is good in a way. Lame duck is good for dinner!!

Karpal: No one should pressure Abdullah to quit

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi should not be pressured to quit as Prime Minister despite his flaws, says DAP chairman Karpal Singh.

He said he preferred having Abdullah as the Prime Minister than his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as the country would experience another “Mahathir era” under Najib.

“Najib was once Dr Mahathir’s (former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s) blue-eyed boy. It is bound to happen.

“Umno should not write off Abdullah as he received the people’s majority.

“It is not fair to pressure him to step down. It is not in our culture to pressure anyone into submission,” he said yesterday.

Karpal Singh denied he wanted Abdullah to remain in power instead of Najib to make it easier for the Opposition to make their move, saying, “our chances are not slimmer under Najib.”

Karpal sues Utusan for RM10mil

KUALA LUMPUR, FRI:

Bukit Gelugor Member of Parliament Karpal Singh has filed a RM10 million suit against Utusan Melayu (M) Sdn Bhd over a defamatory article on his comments on Islam.

The writ of summons was filed at the Civil High Court registry in the Jalan Duta Court Complex today through his law firm, Karpal Singh & Co.

In his statement of claim, Karpal, who is also a lawyer, claimed the article entitled “DAP diingat jangan bakar perasaan Melayu” (DAP reminded not to inflame sentiments of Malays) published last Aug 25, had stated that he made the comments on Islam in his welcoming speech at the 15th DAP National Congress held on the previous day (Aug 24).

He claimed the defamatory words were understood to mean, among others, that Karpal was a politician bent on creating ill-will among the different communities in the country, was absolutely false and malicious and were intended to destroy his professional and political careers.

The Democratic Action Party (DAP) national chairman said he had consistently maintained in his public speeches and during his membership of Parliament in the Dewan Rakyat for the last 26 years that Islam was the official religion of the country as provided under Article 3 (1) of the Federal Constitution.
Karpal said he gave notice to Utusan for retraction and apology without prejudice to his right to commence legal proceedings against the Bahasa Malaysia daily newspaper.

He stated that it would be in Utusan’s best interests to comply with his demand for mitigation purposes on damages which could ultimately be ordered against the newspaper by the court.

He said Utusan complied with his demand and had published an article entitled “Ralat” on Aug 26, retracting and giving its unconditional apology to him and accepted that the words complained of, had no basis.

Karpal noted that the publication of the defamatory words by Utusan on the eve of the polling day of the Permatang Pauh by-election parliamentary seat was to defame him in his capacity as a Pakatan Rakyat coalition leader, with a view to ensure that de facto Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim lost in the by-election.

He sought RM10 million in general damages, aggravated damages, exemplary damages, interest, costs and any relief deemed proper by the court.

Karpal: Who are the judges, Dr M?

Monday May 19, 2008 the star

PETALING JAYA: The remark by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that he would expose judges who came to him to lobby for promotion should not be ignored.

DAP national chairman Karpal Singh, who contacted The Star Sunday, said a tribunal should be set up to investigate these judges.

“I call upon Dr Mahathir to publicly identify the judges. If they are not identified, judges who are not guilty will be tainted with the same brush,’’ he said.

“On the other hand, those judges who are accused of lobbying should be given a chance to clear their name. In the public interest, he should let everyone know who are the judges involved.”

The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the V.K. Lingam video had recommended that Dr Mahathir and several other prominent figures be probed for allegedly being involved in a conspiracy to manipulate the appointment of judges.

Following the findings, Dr Mahathir said on Saturday that he was prepared to be charged in court so that he could reveal many things about the judiciary.
