PUTRAJAYA: Despite supporting a similar cause – the rights of the Indian community – some 200 MIC and PKR members caused a ruckus at the Prime Minister's office this morning, resulting in two sustaining injuries.

BN coalition's MIC National Youth wing chief T. Mohan was present, reportedly to thank premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak for his concern and for solving issues of the Indian community including Tamil schools, temples, economical matters and issues of nationality.

PKR deputy president N. Surendran and Wanita chief Zuraidah Kamaruddin was at the premises to apply for blue identity cards for a Form Five student who claimed to have failed to register for SPM at her school because she did not have an IC.

The 11.30am incident was first a peaceful one as both sides of the divide marched around the premises while shouting slogans.

Mohan, when met later, said he was present to hand over a Thank You card to the Prime Minister recognising the aid he gave, especially on issues of ICs through the MyDaftar campaign held nationwide.

Mohan said through the campaign 9.529 out of 24,385 applications were solved while the rest are still being processed.

On the student not having an IC, Mohan said MIC was working as quickly as possible on the matter.

Mohan denied Surendran's claim that more than 300,000 Indians in the country did not have an identity document and urged Surendran to provide evidence to his claim
