THE man who accused PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sodomising him has lodged a police report against Pahang Daily Online for posting articles on the Internet alleging that he had contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who is also Mr Anwar's former aide, said the news portal published six articles claiming that he was critically ill due to the disease.
Mohd Saiful, 23, refuted claims made on the news portal after lodging a report at the Damansara police station here yesterday.
'As you can see for yourselves, I am perfectly fine and healthy. I was not bedridden or ill as claimed by the website. I want to stress that I do not have an STD or any other sickness.
'These are all lies created by irresponsible people. I want the police to investigate and take immediate action against those responsible,' said Mohd Saiful, adding that he would file a suit against the news portal and others who spread similar lies via blogs and websites.
'There are also claims via e-mail and certain blogs that I am struck by bad luck for swearing on the Quran about my sodomy allegation against Anwar,' Mohd Saiful said, referring to an interview last month by a website with former Federal Territory Mosque imam Ramlang Porigi, who witnessed his oath-taking on Aug 15 last year.
Mohd Saiful, who arrived at the police station at 11am, was accompanied by his father Azlan Mohd Lazim, 55, and lawyer Zamri Idrus.
On June 28 last year, the former Universiti Tenaga Nasional student leader lodged a police report alleging that he was sodomised by Anwar at the Desa Damansara Condominium in Bukit Damansara on June 26. The case is pending in court. -- THE STAR/ANN
