PUTRAJAYA: The defeat of Barisan Nasional in five states in the just-concluded 12th general election proves the political maturity of the country’s election process and democracy.

Re-elected Johor Baru MP Datuk Shahrir Samad said there should not be any panic or calls for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also BN chairman and Umno president, to resign.
