GEORGE TOWN(Sept 19,2008): A group of 'concerned' Malaysians have lodged a police report against Parti Keadilan Rakyat de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for causing uneasiness amongst the people with his repeated statements on a change in government.
One of them, Wan Abidin Zain, 45, told reporters gathered outside the George Town police headquarters in Jalan Patani that Anwar's repeated actions and statements on a change in government have had the people worried.
"He is threatening the stability and peace of the country with his repeated allegations of a change in government," he said.
Wan Abidin, who is believed to be an Umno member, said the police report is not made because of political differences.
"We are all lodging this report against Anwar as concerned Malaysians who are worried for the stability and peace of the country."
He added that Anwar is being immoral and irresponsible for issuing such statements.
The group of about 25 men, believed to be Umno members, lodged the police report about 2.30pm on Friday.
