For the deputy division chief's post, Jalaluddin Alias polled 153 votes to defeat Datuk Zainal Abidin, who got 128 votes.

Umno divisional meetings: Rais retains division
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim retained his Jelebu division chief post yesterday after defeating his challenger who also happens to be his deputy, Datuk Yunus Rahmat. Rais polled 145 votes against Yunus' 134.
Rais said he would continue to work at uniting members and further strengthening the party. Yunus said he accepted the decision and would continue to play his role in making Umno more effective.
